We would like a student rep to join the NYSAFCS Board. A junior is preferable so they can continue next year and be a liaison to the students. If you or anyone you know is interested please contact Dot Valachovic at valbugh2o@aol.com
The State University College at Oneonta has a total of 41 students enrolled in the dual major of Human Ecology/Family and Consumer Science Education. There are 13 new students this fall semester including freshman and transfer students. Currently we have 2 student teachers out in the field, one in Binghamton and one in Monroe. An additional 9 students will be out student teaching this comming spring. Please continue to spread the word that there is high demand for FCS teachers and encourage interested high school students to check our program at SUCO. In addition to FCSE, we offer Dietetics, Fashion, Child and Family Studies and Food Service and Restaurant Management programs. Visit our website at www.Oneonta.edu
